Dark Days.

Our power was out for almost three days. It makes you realize how much we rely on those wires and chords for almost everything we do. Hurricane style winds whipped through the city and surrounding areas, leaving thousands out of power. Our neighbor lost a car due to a tree falling on it. In true southern fashion, it took them an absurdly long time to remove the tree and re-connect our power.
I was an orphan at various friends houses, using their enviable hot showers and watching movies in their heated rooms. When I got home from work yesterday the power guys were outside and the lights were shining down upon me. I giddily turned on and off the light switches as if I had never seen such a glorious thing as electricity. Then I took a nice looooong hot shower.
It's important to go without sometimes. Makes you realize how much you have.

Selene,--very nice photo, so was the previous one. I love that your blogs have the photo's. It's a beautiful day here in the city, --I've seen at least five people walking past with huge bouquets of tulips. What ever happened to Mabel? Was it Mabel, the old Mercedes? How is your new ride?
I notice that Michelle commented on your blog at 4:42. The past few years I've noticed the number 42 a lot--like every time I run around. I love you. Krystal
