Spring....Realistically

It's coming. I can smell it. It only hints at itself with the slightest budding of the camellias and the anxious daffodil's popping out of the dirt. The smell of freshly cut grass fills the air and harkens a time of barbecues and late sunsets. The weather still mocks it with its bitter cold, but the rains only make its arrival more imminent. Trees are budding, plants are growing, spring is coming. The Rose City is going to be filled with roses again, and what a joyous day that will be. Our coats will fly off in defiance of the long winter so recently past, and our white arms will blind the masses as we don tanktops, sandals and sunscreen.
Then it will rain again.
This is Oregon after all.
